Anyways, it's not a "tulpamancy problem" no matter what
9:08 PM
Solutions to it would be the same for it occurring in any other cases like "I twitch when I focus really hard" or whatnot
9:09 PM
Oh, and no, it has no bearing whatsoever on the quality of your tulpa's development or your overall practice, aside from the as I said likely accidental placebo of it (or if it's truly only focus-related, it's unrelated to tulpas in any way whatsoever)

@Fox re the twitches, didnt you mention a few months/a year ago that you are on ketamine therapy? Sorry if i mistook you for someone else. Involutary muscle spasms are a rare side effect of using ketamine https://blog.ketamineclinics.com/blog/common-and-rare-ketamine-adverse-effects?hs_amp=true (edited)
Common And Rare Ketamine Adverse Effects
9:37 PM
if you are taking any medication prescribed by a psychiatrist, i would consider that any prolonged issues that you might develop with tulpamancy are related to either the medication or the thing you are being treated for with the medication (edited)

Yes that's me although I haven't been on ketamine for months.
9:46 PM
The thing is the twitches seem /highly/ related to tulpa activity.
9:49 PM
Regarding vocality...I have no idea. Maybe I just need to take a break from everything and rethink things when I am less stressed out.

After doing some history checks, you've been experiencing these spasms/twitches for over a year. If it is headmate related, it probably wouldn't last that long. My best guess is that you have a condition or medication that is causing it.
9:50 PM
Besides, worrying about and focusing on these spasms will make them more frequent because you're telling yourself that it's related to tulpamancy, which will cause the body to do the spasms/twitches anytime you are doing activities related to tulpamancy.
9:51 PM
Honestly, it seems like you're wanting someone to tell you that these twitches and/or spasms are due to tulpamancy.
9:53 PM
I recommend that you stop overthinking it. Twitches and spasms are a natural thing, regardless if you have headmates.

honestly so many things can cause muscle spasms that i would not attribute it to tulpamancy. Even long covid can cause muscle spasms. If you attribute twitches to tulpamancy, well, you could basically associate it and develop something similar to what is called tiktok taurette’s https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9733629/
Perceptions of Tourette syndrome (TS) and tic disorders are often driven by social media. During the COVID-19 pandemic, social media consumption greatly increased, particularly in the adolescent population. In parallel with increased social media consumption, ...

It's a placebo effect. People start associating things with something else, and they mistake causation and correlation.

It's similar to how if one were to get a cough, and if they believe they are sick, their mind will begin making them actually sick.

What's the best way to establish continuous communication without dropouts? I don't mind if its in tulpish or my mind voice.

Yeah, I agree with ALiTA here.

I would recommend telling yourself that tulpamancy isn’t exhausting. Gaslighting oneself can actually be quite effective in a majority of things.

I've just been tired and stressed and unhappy last few weeks, used to get this way before I was prescribed ketamine but I'm in a place where I can't get it anymore.

Speak to a medical professional and explain your symptoms. Mention the spasms and twitches.
Avatar
Tics have a very noticeable premonitory urge before they occur. They are not just muscle spasms. Regardless, I hope you do get feeling better.

Honestly, I was speaking more like conditions similar to ADHD. Our host has ADHD, which causes her to twitch occasionally. She's been doing it before she established a system.

It isn't a tic, I've had tics since I was a kid.

A tic is like an itch I have to scratch.

Unfortunately I am not in a position where I can get high quality healthcare, not for several months at least.
10:08 PM
I have a general doctor who might be able to get me an SSRI prescription but even that is a stretch.

But once I move I will look into it.

The only thing I use right now is adderall I get from a doctor which I have had a prescription for for years.

But I am a foreigner in a country where I am not in the state funded healthcare system.

All I’m saying on this matter is that you shouldn't seek out medication solely to change what occurs with tulpamancy.
Avatar
No I was going to ask doe Prozac because I was depressed, had nothing to do with Alex.
Avatar
Kyoya Ootori (Starry System) BOT 9/4/2023 10:11 PM
Alright. The way you had worded it implied that you were seeking the medication because of tulpamancy.

Twitches might be from stress or other health issues. I had my fingers go numb and some body parts twitching about year ago when I was stressed out

I would suggest it's more a byproduct of depression, but it might be anything honestly (edited)

Wait so my meds cause tics and not twitches? I saw a tiktok that said that only tic disorders cause tics and everything else is called 'twitches'

Ask your doctor on that one, no way I'd even consider anything tiktok has to say on this topic (edited)

If you acidentally think of something (like a quick thought) that changes your tulpa's apperance, or damages the tulpa's physical form, does it actually hurt the tulpa? Im kinda afraid to like acidentally think of something and that hurts the tulpa in some way potentially And does a tulpa knows everything you are thinking at all time? Or you have to think very hard for a tulpa to know?

no, it won't. Intrusive thoughts are just that--and especially if you label them as such, it won't hurt anyone

wait... So in a hypothesis scenario, if you were to be scared by the tulpa saying hi Later somehow you forgot the tulpa But one day when you are using the bathroom you remember the day when your tulpa said hi to you while you are doing that would the tulpa revive and say hi to you again

Well, it may or may not be helpful, then--any attention on your tulpa is probably helpful, so I don't think working on imposition skills would hurt at all
Avatar

Not the act of staring itself--visual imposition is a practice of "open-eye imagination." How is your internal visualization? EG can you picture an apple in your head?
Avatar
Original message was deleted or could not be loaded.
Hmm. You may have some difficulty doing imposition, then--the trick to visual imposition is 1. imagining the thing 2. your eyes are open while doing this And that's it. If you've ever read a fiction book and had some visual perception of the events in the book while reading, you can do visual imposition
Avatar
And yes, even just imposing their presence IRL can be a conduit for forcing/development, anything that helps you focus on them feeling like they're separate from you

Oh? If you're expecting visual imposition to have the same clarity and feeling as real-life visuals, I think you may be misunderstanding what visual imposition is. Could you describe what you're looking for?

Well, depending on how skilled you become at it.. It is the act of "tricking your senses" after all, not just simple visualization (edited)

Not really--when I'm imposed I "interact" with the real world (eg I walk around on objects that are there, blank isn't telekinetic) but that's about it. I'm just imagined, and blank's eyes are opened
